Info Speaking with Andrew Kiss, one is struck by the air of
expectancy that forms a backdrop to his soft-spoken nature.
That expectancy seems to rise and fall with his measured voice
and it is always there behind his eyes.

Andrew Kiss
It is an expectancy most readily found in his art, a seamless
narration to the still images meticulously crafted in oils. He is
one of Canada's most quickly recognized wildlife artists for a
style that captures both breathless images and a reverence for
realism.
A lover of the outdoors, Kiss often captures his subjects on film
and then uses those photographs as a springboard for his
imagination, combining the elements of many photos as reference
material to form his composition.
A recent expedition to Africa found the British Columbia artist
packing more weight in camera equipment than everything else
combined. His safari into Kenya and Tanzania was captured in over
7,000 photos and years of materials for his internationally
recognized paintings.
